
Confidently coined, PoetryTeacher, this South Louisiana reared poet, writer, and teacher is on the “get to know” list. By way of Dallas, Texas, PoetryTeacher has proverbially stolen stages from Washington State to London, England. Awarded Dallas’ Independent RAW artist, Poetryteacher has carved her way through the poetry industry. She has opened for legendary hip hop pioneers such as Slum Village and she sits comfortably atop the poetry scene. While opening and featuring for some of the industry’s top performers she completed her debut album in 2014 entitled, “The Pathetically Beautiful Project”.
She got her first bout on the spoken word stage in Arlington, Texas at Chrystal’s Lounge in 2003. From there, she has graced the stages as a SLAM participant at Southern Fried in San Antonio and Woman of the World poetry event in Dallas. She has been featured on stages in New Orleans, Washington, DC, San Diego, Mississippi, Chicago, New York, Atlanta and London, UK.


Along with her poetic background, she has made her breakout acting debuts in stage plays and short films such as Forbidden Love, Black Nativity and a 24 hour video race entitled One-Hit Brolly. PoetryTeacher is currently working on her forthcoming album, “The Freedom Project” and her new full-length collection of poetry and memoirs, Elephant Bones.
